Smiling Buddha  was the assigned code name of India's first nuclear weapon explosion on 18 May 1974. The device was detonated on the army base Rajasthan Pokhran Test Range by the Indian Army under the supervision of several key Indian army personnel.
India became sixth country to have tested nuclear bombs and joined the elite nuclear club in 1998 as On 11 May 1998, 24 years after the first operation, the Atomic Energy Commission of India and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) carried out the joint operation, known as Pokhran-II in Pokhran city of Rajsthan. 
Pokhran (also spelled Pokaran) is a city and a municipality located in the Jaisalmer district of the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is a remote location in the Thar Desert region and served as the test site for India's first underground nuclear weapon detonation.

 18 मई 1974 को मुस्कुराते हुए बुद्ध को भारत के पहले परमाणु हथियार विस्फोट का निर्दिष्ट कोड नाम दिया गया था। इस उपकरण को भारतीय सेना द्वारा कई प्रमुख भारतीय सेना कर्मियों की देखरेख में भारतीय सेना द्वारा राजस्थान बेस पोखरण टेस्ट रेंज पर विस्फोट किया गया था।
 भारत परमाणु बम का परीक्षण करने वाला छठा देश बन गया और 1998 में कुलीन परमाणु क्लब में शामिल हो गया, क्योंकि 11 मई 1998 को, पहले ऑपरेशन के बाद, भारत के परमाणु ऊर्जा आयोग और रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन (DRDO) ने संयुक्त रूप से किया।  ऑपरेशन, जिसे राज्स्थान के पोखरण शहर में पोखरण- II के नाम से जाना जाता है।
 पोखरण (पोकरण भी लिखा जाता है) एक शहर और एक नगर पालिका है जो भारतीय राज्य राजस्थान के जैसलमेर जिले में स्थित है।  यह थार रेगिस्तान क्षेत्र में एक दूरस्थ स्थान है और भारत के पहले भूमिगत परमाणु हथियार विस्फोट के लिए परीक्षण स्थल के रूप में कार्य किया गया है।

Uranium( यूरेनियम): Uranium: Uranium is a very heavy metal which can be used as an abundant source of concentrated energy. Many contemporary uses of uranium exploit its unique nuclear properties. Uranium-235 has the distinction of being the only naturally occurring fissile isotope. Uranium-238 is fissionable by fast neutrons, and is fertile, meaning it can be transmuted to fissile plutonium-239 in a nuclear reactor. Another fissile isotope, uranium-233, can be produced from natural thorium and is also important in nuclear technology. While uranium-238 has a small probability for spontaneous fission or even induced fission with fast neutrons, uranium-235 and to a lesser degree uranium-233 have a much higher fission cross-section for slow neutrons. In sufficient concentration, these isotopes maintain a sustained nuclear chain reaction. This generates the heat in nuclear power reactors, and produces the fissile material for nuclear weapons.
