Operating System   Operating System The operating system is the most important program that runs on acomputer. Every general-purpose computer must have an operating system to run other programs and applications. Operating systems perform basic tasks, such as recognizing inputfrom the keyboard, sending output to the display screen, keeping track of files and directories on the disk, and controlling peripheral devices such as disk drives and printers. ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम  ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम सबसे महत्वपूर्ण प्रोग्राम है जो एक कंप्यूटर पर चलता है।  प्रत्येक सामान्य-उद्देश्य वाले कंप्यूटर में अन्य प्रोग्राम और एप्लिकेशन चलाने के लिए एक ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम होना चाहिए।  ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम बुनियादी कार्य करता है, जैसे कि इनपुटफ्रेम कीबोर्ड को पहचानना, डिस्प्ले स्क्रीन पर आउटपुट भेजना, डिस्क पर फ़ाइलों और निर्देशिकाओं पर नज़र रखना और डिस्क ड्राइव और प्रिंटर जैसे परिधीय उपकरणों को नियंत्रित करना।
